Faggoted Romper

Kit Cost: $41 complete kit, $29 Partial Kit

Faggoting is a great way to add handwork to a romper for a special baby while maintaining the masculine look that so many modern parents require. In this class students will learn the modifications necessary to add faggoting to the collar and sleeve of any pattern. While the sample was done on a romper, students may choose to use the technique on a daygown instead. Because faggoting is done between two finished edges, a sewing machine will be used if available. The minimal straight stitching can be done by hand if students do not wish to bring machines.

Student Requirements: Basic Sewing Supplies only. Students purchasing the partial kit will need to bring a romper or daygown pattern with a Peter Pan collar and set in sleeve. Basic sewing machine (straight stitch only) will be helpful, but not essential. Will be used less than 10% of class time. Students can easily share machines or do minimal straight stitching by hand.

Kit Contents:

Complete kit contains cotton lawn to make size 6 months, OFB Baby Romper pattern, precut gingham bias, DMC floss, buttons, machine thread, and instructions including color photos. Available in pink or blue. Partial kit contains everything except the pattern.
