Is your least favorite part of embroidery tracing the design? If so, this is the project for you! Following the design lines in the fabric, you will embellish the flap of this envelope-style evening purse with embroidery, silk ribbon embroidery and bead embroidery to create a truly elegant evening purse. Stitched all in black, the various textures of fabric, ribbons, and beads add dimension to the design. Whether you carry it to an evening at the opera or use it to decorate your hall tree or bed post, this purse will add a touch of glitz and glamour to your life.

Students will learn the special techniques required when stitching with silk ribbon and beads, which needles to use as well as the coral stitch, beaded outline, beaded back stitch, and more. You will even be shown how to customize the size of your purse to accommodate your evening-out essentials. Approximate size is 8” x 8”. Students will construct the lined purse by machine at home.
